Ingredients
- 4 Hawaiian sandwich buns (or substitute 8 ½-inch thick slices of Hawaiian bread)
- ¾ cup sliced almonds
- 1 can coconut milk (I used full-fat, but feel free to use light)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons light rum
- ¼ teaspoon almond extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- sweetened flaked coconut – about one cup
- 1 to 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- powdered sugar
