Ingredients
- 8 slices of white, whole-wheat, or multigrain bread
- 1 1/2 cups besan ( bengal gram flour)
- 1/2 cup rice flour
- 1/4 cup fine rava (semolina, cream of wheat, sooji)
- Baking soda, a pinch
- 1/2 tsp carom seeds (ajwain, vaamu, omam), crushed
- 1 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- Turmeric powder, a pinch
- Salt to taste
- 1 1/2 cups water
- Vegetable oil for deep frying
