Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 tablespoon bacon fat
- 1 large onion, diced
- 10 oz portobello mushrooms, finely diced
- 2, 4 oz cans of green chiles (I used Trader Joe’s Fire Roasted Green Chiles)
- 28 oz can diced tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 3 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 tablespoons cumin powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 4 teaspoons chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2-3 teaspoons sea salt (or more to taste)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper (or more to taste)
