Gaston Stew
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons Olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Butter
- 2 pounds Beef, cut into pieces for stewing
- 1 tablespoon All-Purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Freshly groung pepper
- 1 1/2 Cloves of garlic, chopped
- 1 Large onion, chopped
- 1 Bouillon cube dissolved in 1 cup of hot water
- 8 ounces Canned tomato sauce
- 12 Pepper corns
- 3 Whole cloves
- 1/4 cup Parsley, chopped
- 1/2 Bay leaf
- 1/2 cup Sherry or white wine
- 6 Medium-size potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 6-8 Carrots, peeled and quartered
- 1 Stalk of celery, chopped
