- 1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs, plus more as needed
- 4 cups canola or vegetable oil, plus more as needed
- For the honey-miso mayo:
- 1/3 cup Kewpie mayo
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 1 teaspoon white miso
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 pinch freshly ground black pepper
