- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup sugar, plus more for sprinkling
- 1 cup yellow cornmeal
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
