- For the Corn Bread
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- 1/3 cup (5 1/2 tablespoons) butter, melted, or vegetable oil
- For the Stuffing/Dressing
- 2 16-20 oz. loaves French or Italian bread
- 1 turkey, of any size
- 1 stick butter, divided
- 1 large yellow onion
- 1 stalk celery
- 2 whole carrots
- Kosher salt
- Coarse ground pepper
- 5-10 leaves of dried fresh sage, rubbed between palms into a pile of fluff, or 1 tablespoon dried sage
