Ingredients
- 3⁄4 cup oat bran (use toasted for more flavour)
- 3⁄4 cup flour
- 1⁄2 cup whole wheat flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (original calls for 1/2ts but I like it better this way)
- 1⁄4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup applesauce
- 1⁄2 cup low-fat plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons oil (mixed with 1 tbsp applesauce)
- 1 tablespoon applesauce
- 3 tablespoons honey or 3 tablespoons agave nectar
- 1 cup apple, chopped (1 apple)
- 1⁄2 cup pecans, chopped (optional, I leave them out)
- cinnamon sugar, for sprinkling (optional)
