- 1 Tbsp. mushroom ketchup or Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp. anchovy paste
- 6 pickled walnuts, quartered lengthwise
- 3 Tbsp. pickled-walnut liquor
- 2 bay leaves
- 4 cups beef stock
