- 1 cup walnut halves

- 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon zest
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 3 sticks unsalted butter, melted
- 1 pound phyllo dough (about 20 sheets), thawed but still cold
- whole cloves, for decorating (optional)
