- 2 (1-inch) sticks of cinnamon
- 1 dried bay leaf
- 5 cardamom pods
- 1 small tomato, very finely chopped or grated
- 1 pinch saffron soaked in 2 tablespoons warm milk (or almond milk)
- 1 teaspoon rose water (optional)
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro leaves
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh mint leaves
