Treacle apple tart
Ingredients
- 375g pack sweet shortcrust pastry
- a little flour for dusting
- 600g golden syrup plus a little extra
- 225g fresh white breadcrumbs
- zest and juice 2 lemons
- 3 large eggs broken up with a fork
- 5 small eating apples – choose your favourites
- custard vanilla ice cream or clotted cream, to serve
