- 1/4 teaspoon hot chili oil (optional)
- 1/2 medium yellow onion, chopped
- 1/3 cup finely chopped carrots (food processor works well)
- 2 medium stalks celery, finely diced
- 1 large garlic clove, minced or finely grated
- 1 pound lean lean ground beef, turkey, or bison
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 3/4 cup [gluten free] beef broth
- 2 Tablespoons dark brown sugar, firmly packed (or equivalent sugar substitute)
- 1 Tablespoon superfine brown rice flour
- Gluten free smoked paprika
- Gluten free spray olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
