One waffle to rule them all
Ingredients
- 3.5 ounces all purpose flour (3/4 cup)
- 1 ounce cornstarch (1/4 cup)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 cup milk (1% or whole both work, with whole making for a richer waffle)
- 3/4 cup buttermilk (or milk + acid substitution, see below)
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter OR 6 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 large egg, separated
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
