Ingredients
- 1 pound stew beef (could also use goat or lamb)
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil, divided
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 1 black cardamom pod
- 5 black peppercorns
- 5 cloves
- 3 cloves garlic, peeled and grated
- 1 inch ginger, peeled and grated
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 3 Roma tomatoes, diced
- 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 3 medium red potatoes, peeled and diced into large chunks
- 3 green Thai chiles, thickly sliced
- 1 handful cilantro, roughly chopped
- warm naan for serving, lemon wedges (optional)
