- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons Dutch-processed cocoa powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/2 cups whole milk
- 3 large egg yolks
- 4 ounces (about 3/4 cup) 60 to 70% chocolate baking chips
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter , cut into chunks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
