- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- PASTRY CREAM:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 2 cups whole milk
- 4 large egg yolks, room temperature
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: Assorted berries, whipped cream, confectioners' sugar
