Ingredients
- 1-inch stick of cinnamon
- 5 cloves
- 4 pods green cardamom , seeds removed
- 8 black peppercorns
- 1 large bay leaf
- 1 star anise pod
- 2 tbsp. coriander
- 2 tbsp. cumin
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. mace
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 2 1/4 lbs. chicken pieces of your choice (with or without bones and skin)
- 3 to 4 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, (finely chopped)
- 2 medium tomatoes, (finely chopped)
- 1/2 cup water
- 4-inch piece of ginger ( julienned )
- Chopped fresh cilantro to garnish
